Black Lawyers Association march for equality

The Black Lawyers Association, is accusing the state of treating black and women practitioners unfairly compared to their white counterparts.

The association staged a protest march to the Union Buildings on Friday.

BLA spokesperson Lutendo Sigogo said they are dissatisfied with the state’s continued disregard of black and women legal practitioners in its briefing patterns and distribution of legal work.

"According to the research white male legal practitioners continue to earn more fees than black and women legal practitioners," said Sigogo.
