KZN ANC Suspects Conspiracy on Councillor Killings

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is of the view that there has been some conspiracy to assassinate its leaders including its councillors.

This comes after former ANC Youth League Secretary General Sindiso Magaqa, and two other ANC councillors were rushed to hospital last night, after they were shot by unknown assailants.

The incident took place at UMzimkhulu in the south of the province, and it happens at a time when the ANC is gearing up for its regional conference, where new leaders are expected to be elected.

At least three ANC leaders including councillors have been killed in Umzimkhulu in the past six months.
The party's provincial spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli speaking to Eye Witness News, says it's a matter of deep concern to them as the movement, "the targeting of our public representatives, both those who are deployed as political office bearers, and those who are in the administration is deeply worrying."
