Manyonga, Semenya scoop SA Sport Awards

Long jumper Luvo Manyonga and track runner Caster Semenya were the big winners at the 2017 South African Sports Awards that were held at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on Sunday night.

Manyonga claimed the Sports Star of the Year and Sportsman of the Year awards, while Semenya was crowned the Sportswoman of the Year and also scooped the People Choice award for Sports Star of the Year.

Both athletes had an excellent 2017, with Manyonga winning the Diamond League Trophy for the long jump and also claiming gold at the World Championships in London, while Semenya also did the same in the 800m race.
