A bride has been arrested on her way to her own wedding and charged with driving under the influence.

The bride was pictured being put into the back of a police car while in her wedding dress after being pulled over.

It is not clear why Amber Young, 32, was on her own as she headed to the wedding, but she is said to have been involved in a three-vehicle crash on her way there.


Home affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba says he did not know about a meeting between former Eskom CEO Brian Dames and the Guptas in Midrand Gauteng.

Gigaba had been testifying and answering questions before Parliament’s state capture inquiry, and says he first heard of the meeting when Dames presented his testimony to the commission of inquiry.


Former Eskom board chairman Ben Ngubane says the decision to suspend former acting CEO Matshela Koko at the power utility was a collective one.

Ngubane had been giving testimony before the parliamentary commettee investigating corruption and maladministration at State Owned Enterprise.

He says the decision followed the board and governance committee engagement on Koko.
