Sri Lanka edged the Standard Bank Proteas by three wickets in the one-off T20 International at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday to bring down the curtain on South Africa’s tour of the sub-continent.


Pocketing nine more medals on the final day of competition, South Africa finished second in the overall standings on Sunday at the CAA African Senior Championships in Asaba, Nigeria.


Cricket South Africa (CSA) has congratulated the Standard Bank Proteas on winning their five-match ODI Series against Sri Lanka after clinching their third straight victory by an impressive margin of 78 runs at Pallekele on Sunday.

“Congratulations to captain Faf du Plessis, head coach Ottis Gibson and all the players and support staff,” commented CSA Chief Executive Thabang Moroe.


The Crusaders are the 2018 Vodacom Super Rugby champions after they defeated the Emirates Lions 37-18 in a memorable final on Saturday morning (SA time) at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch. The home side led 20-6 at halftime.
